Mobile Marine Detailing - Charleston, SC
Boat Detailing in Charleston, SC - We Come to Your Dock
Charleston water is hard on a boat. Between the salt working the Cooper and Ashley rivers, the brackish chop coming off the harbor, and that low-country sun beating down at the slip, gelcoat goes from glossy to chalky faster than most owners expect. Moonshine Detailing is fully mobile marine detailing - we bring the shop to your boat, whether she's wet-slipped at the Charleston City Marina MegaDock, racked at Isle of Palms Marina, or sitting on the trailer in your Mount Pleasant driveway.
Mobile to your door in Charleston, or drop off at our Mount Pleasant shop.
Where the Cooper and Ashley rivers meet the harbor, salt and Lowcountry sun chalk a boat's gelcoat and brown-stain the waterline faster than most slip owners expect.
Jacob handles every job himself, and the approach on the water is the same as it is on a car: quality over speed. Salt spray, waterline scum, oxidation, and that stubborn brown staining along the hull all get worked properly - not blasted off in twenty minutes so we can rush to the next slip. Grime to gleam, done right the first time.
We detail boats across the greater Charleston area - Daniel Island, Sullivan's Island, the IOP marinas, Shem Creek, Wappoo Cut, and Summerville driveways. If your boat lives on the Charleston Harbor, salt is already eating at the finish. The sooner we treat it, the easier it is to bring back.
We come to the dock or the driveway
Fully mobile - no hauling your boat across town. We detail at your slip at Charleston Harbor Marina, Toler's Cove, or the City Marina, or in your driveway if she's on the trailer. We just need access to the boat and we handle the rest.
We fight Charleston salt & oxidation
Salt water and the SC sun oxidize gelcoat fast. We decontaminate the hull, cut the chalky oxidation back, and seal the finish so it holds gloss longer between trips out of the harbor.
Hull, gelcoat & waterline restoration
The waterline scum and rust-colored staining that builds up at the slip is our specialty. We remove it, polish the gelcoat back to depth, and protect it - topside, hull, and all the surfaces salt loves to attack.
One owner, real standards
Jacob details every boat personally. No rotating crew, no cutting corners to make the next appointment. You get a careful, thorough job and a straight answer about what your boat actually needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does boat detailing in Charleston cost?
- It depends on the size of the boat and how much oxidation and salt buildup we're dealing with. Detailing is priced by the condition and length of the vessel rather than a flat rate. Call or text Jacob at (843) 412-3713 with your boat's make, length, and where it's kept, and you'll get an honest quote.
- Do you really come to my boat?
- Yes - we're fully mobile. We detail boats right at the slip at marinas around Charleston Harbor, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, Sullivan's Island, and Isle of Palms, or in your driveway if the boat is on a trailer. We bring our own equipment, water, and power where needed.
- Can you remove the brown staining and oxidation on my hull?
- In most cases, yes. The rust-colored waterline staining and chalky oxidation that Charleston's salt and sun cause can usually be cut back and polished out of the gelcoat, then sealed to slow it from coming back. Badly neglected gelcoat may need more aggressive correction, which we'll assess in person.
- How long does a boat detail take?
- It varies with the size and condition of the boat - a single-day job for many center consoles and runabouts, longer for larger vessels needing full oxidation removal. Because we work quality over speed, we'll give you a realistic time estimate when we quote, not a rushed promise.
- Do you detail boats outside Mount Pleasant?
- We're based in Mount Pleasant and serve the whole Charleston area - downtown Charleston, Daniel Island, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and Summerville. If you're near the water in the Lowcountry, reach out and we'll let you know we can get to your dock.
- How do I book a boat detail?
- Call or text Jacob directly at (843) 412-3713. Let us know your boat's length, where it's kept, and the condition it's in, and we'll schedule a time to come to you.
